Turin, Dakar, New York – three cities, three stories about the unknown; a special kind of story about migration and intertwined journeys. Young Sophie leaves Dakar to live with her husband Abdoulaye in Turin. On her arrival, she’s in for a horrible surprise: Abdoulaye has already travelled on to New York with a friend, via France. He hopes to be able to stay at Sophie’s aunt Mamy Fall’s, however she’s on her way to Dakar with her 19-year-old son Thierno … Told with a remarkably light touch, the film provides a confident, unhurried perspective on the positive and negative effects of global migration movements.
