LA MER AU LOIN (ACROSS THE SEA)

In the 1990s, 27-year-old Nour emigrates illegally to Marseille. He makes a living from petty crime and leads a marginal existence between precariousness and recklessness. His encounter with Serge, a charismatic cop, and his wife Noémie will turn his life upside down. LA MER AU LOIN follows Nour's exile and uprooting over a decade. In his feature film, director Saïd Hamich Benlarbi explores the tension between individual aspirations and collective expectations, giving voice to a generation that is still very much with us today.
