Senegalese musician Alune Wade travels through Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, and on to New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz. Along the way, he meets fellow musicians, explores the connections between African musical traditions and jazz, and records a new album with artists from West Africa and New Orleans. TUKKI brings together voices from both sides of the Atlantic, highlighting themes of music, spirituality, food culture, and cultural traditions. The documentary interweaves interviews with studio and concert recordings. The music shapes the narrative and opens up new perspectives on the shared cultural roots of Africa and its diaspora.
