AUGURE (OMEN)

After an absence of 15 years, Koffi returns to Lubumbashi to introduce his family to his Belgian partner Alice, who is pregnant with twins, and to pay her bridal dowry. Rejected because of a black mark on his face, the sign of a Zabolo (Swahili for "magician"), the couple are met with a hostile reception after such long absence. Through a family drama, AUGURE interweaves the destinies of four characters influenced by witchcraft. In this first feature, director Baloji Tshiani plays with cinematographic references, sounds and colours to stage a satire and fable for adults.
