Fradique is one of the leading directors of Angolan cinema. In 2020, he made his first feature film, AR CONDICIONADO, which was selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam, among others. He is currently working on his second feature film HOLD TIME FOR ME and is curating for the AFFK.
Kamy Lara grew up in Luanda and studied audiovisual media and multimedia at the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social (ESCS) in Lisbon. In 2010, she returned to Angola and joined “Geração 80” for the project ANGOLA – NOS TRILHOS DA INDEPENDÊNCIA. She directed all five of the project’s films. She also collaborated with Fradique to co-direct SÃO NICOLAU – ELES NÃO ESQUECERAM and ANGOLA – NOS TRILHOS DA INDEPENDÊNCIA, and was the sole director of MULHERES DE ARMAS. In 2019, she made her first feature, PARA LÁ DOS MEUS PASSOS, which was shown at the 2021 Afrika Film Festival Köln. She was the assistant director for NOSSA SENHORA DA LOJA DO CHINÊS.
Ery Claver, one of Angola’s most versatile filmmakers, began his career as a cinematographer on numerous television shows and documentaries. In 2013, he joined “Geração 80” and honed his camera style with the short films CONCRETE AFFECTION – ZOPO LADY (2014) and HAVEMOS DE VOLTAR (2017). He has directed several short films, including LÚCIA NO CÉU COM SEMÁFOROS (2018) and ENÓQUIO QUE NÃO TINHA CORAÇÃO (2020), which have been screened at international festivals including the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. Claver took over the cinematography on the award-winning film AR CONDICIONADO (2020) and shot his first feature film NOSSA SENHORA DA LOJA DO CHINÊS (OUR LADY OF THE CHINESE SHOP) in 2022.
