PANELTALK PROJECTING HEALTH & RECOVERY
Health and recovery are not only medical, but also deeply cultural experiences. Film, art and other forms of cultural expression reflect individual and societal notions of illness, healing and resilience. In our panel PROJECTING HEALTH & RECOVERY, we want to talk about how we as Black cultural practitioners reflect on the health of our community and what futures can be created for our health through cinematic projections and other forms of artistic expression. How do films shape our view of mental and physical health? Which cultural codes and narratives accompany recovery processes? And can artistic representation itself be part of a healing process?
