Emma Lee Amponsah

Emma-Lee Amponsah holds a BA in Religious Studies, an MA in Gender and Diversity Studies and a PhD in Media and Communication Studies. Her work has appeared in various academic journals, newspapers and magazines as well as on platforms, film festivals and conferences around the world. As a founding member of Black Speaks Back, Amponsah has been involved in various projects on blackness and belonging in Belgium and the Netherlands. She produced the world's first Afrofuturistic musical EUphoria (2018, directed by Robert-Jonathan Koeyers) and directed several experimental short films, including the award-winning ZWARTE IBIS (BLACK IBIS, 2024), which she will present in person at the Afrika Film Festival Cologne.

Mojisola Adebayo

Mojisola Adebayo (BA, MA, PhD, FRSL) is an award-winning theatre artist and accidental film maker, who has worked internationally for 30 years, from Antarctica to Zimbabwe. Her staged and published plays include Moj of the Antarctic: An African Odyssey (Lyric Hammersmith), Muhammad Ali and Me (Ovalhouse), Oranges and Stones (Ashtar Theatre Palestine), Desert Boy (Albany Theatre), I Stand Corrected (Artscape), The Interrogation of Sandra Bland (Bush Theatre), Family Tree (Actors Touring Company), Wind / Rush Generation(s) (National Theatre UK) and STARS (Tamasha Theatre and Brixton House). STARS the animation film premiered at Berlinale 2025 and is Mojisola's first work for screen. Mojisola is a Professor at Queen Mary, University of London.
