AFFK MEETS KUNSTBEWUSST - Artist in Focus: Kresiah Mukwazhi

Filmforum Ludwig   Ticketshop

Every two to three years, the Museum Ludwig invites an artist to redesign the largest wall in the building - the end wall in the staircase. For the fourth edition of the Schultze Projects series, artist Kresiah Mukwazhi is creating a new mural. Mukwazhi often works with used items of clothing or fabric, which she sews together and paints in order to thematise the patriarchal violence against women in her home country of Zimbabwe. For her, her art is a form of protest, self-empowerment and a starting point to strengthen and heal each other. In this event, the artist and her work will be presented in more detail and invited to a joint discussion.
