WORKSHOP: Photography and Posing - Clicking ballroom technologies

Alte Feuerwache   Ticketshop

The workshop aims to introduce ballroom culture as a set of practices and knowledge developed by the Black, Latinx, and LGBTQIAPN+ community, focusing on posing as a tool to boost self-esteem. What ballroom proposes is that you can be a top model, even if you don't fit beauty standards. We will explore a historical overview of poses, the emergence of ballroom culture in NYC, and an introduction to essential photography elements for a model's work. Then, exercises will be proposed, where participants will experiment with poses on their own bodies, identifying how to sustain elegance. Finally, we will have a photographic experience in which participants will take turns as both models and photographers.
