As the owner of a hardware store in Marseille, Lotfi, a 40-something Tunisian man, leads a dissolute life. Business is going well, as is his relationship with his beautiful French girlfriend Monique. But things quickly change when Lotfi’s brother calls from Tunisia, and his past catches up with him. He has to return to Tunisia because his ex-wife has suffered a stroke and she is no longer able to look after their mutual son Amr.  Amr is nine years old and autistic, and he lives in a completely different world. Lotfi’s initial attempts to approach his son go predictably badly. The acting performances in this intricate depiction of a difficult father-son relationship are outstanding, and Nidhal Saadi was deservedly rewarded for his role as the father with the Best Actor award at Marrakech International Film Festival.
