O DIA EM QUE EXPLODIU MABATA-BATA is based on a short story of the same name written in 1987 by the acclaimed writer Mia Couto, and its sublime shots and intriguing soundtrack tell the story of the shepherd boy Azarias, who would rather go to school with his friend José than tend his uncle Raúl’s cattle. He has to take special care of Mabata Bata, who has been selected as the “lobolo” (dowry) for his uncle and Helena’s marriage. The local cattle are especially valuable during times of war, and the soldiers also have their eyes on Raúl’s herd. But the fields surrounding the cattle are full of landmines…
NYO VWETA NAFTA takes us on a journey to the South East Coast of Africa, immersing the viewer into daily life routines in Mozambique.
