Pupils at Holweide secondary school named OUAGA SAGA their “favourite film”. That’s why the comedy will be shown again in 2019 at a screening for schoolchildren. It tells the story of youngsters in a neighbourhood of Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. They dream of careers as football players, or film or pop stars, and scrape a living in dead-end jobs as water carriers, mechanics and busboys, along with the odd scam or two. In their magical fantasy world donkeys can speak and gold sparks shoot across the sky. “OUAGA SAGA is a homage to the city of Ouagadougou and its love for cinema… It is a modern, joyful fairytale with a sprinkle of craziness and optimism.” (Dani Kouyaté)
