Why do so many Ghanaians want to leave their country and emigrate to Europe? What do they lack in Ghana – and are they really aware of the personal and social consequences of migration? In GHANA FOR YOU the filmmaker and actor Adams Mensah goes looking for answers to these questions. He himself moved from Ghana to Belgium at the age of 14 to live with his father. For this documentary, he and some Belgian and Ghanaian friends go on a road trip across the country to West Africa’s Gold Coast. They meet many people living in different regions of Ghana and have long conversations that
give them a closer understanding of the country’s society and politics. In the supporting film an AGYA (meaning “father” in the Ghanaian language Twi) reflects upon the living conditions and future prospects of his five children.
